anda's house

My newly remodeled home is located residential neighborhood within walking distance of a city high school, middle school (the one I teach at!) and two neighborhood elementary schools.  Along with the school playgrounds that serve as neighborhood parks, a beautiful city park is located down the hill from me. Callie the Calico cat thinks she is the princess of our home, but loves every child who comes through our front door.

Living in Sioux City, Iowa not only allows for great shopping ;), but it also provides medical and therapy opportunities within the community.  Sioux City is home to two nationally recognized hospitals and health systems.  I am located within 100 miles of Sioux Falls, SD and Omaha, NE which both are home to children's specialty hospitals and clinics.

I have known Carole, our loving daycare provider, since 2010.  She was excited when she learned of CJ's birth and honored when I asked her to care for him while I was teaching.  The individualized attention CJ receives in her home is unmatched and CJ loves her dearly.

CJ's medical needs have familiarized us with the excellent pediatric care available at Prairie Pediatrics right here in Sioux City, including a leading pediatric cardiologist.  We have gained first hand knowledge of the wonderful care available at Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE; and an added bonus are the medical professionals from the Children's Hospital that travel to Sioux City.

CJ currently attends Able Kids for all his private therapy needs that include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and vital-stem therapy.

As a special education teacher for the Sioux City Community School District, I can attest to the strong and supportive learning environment provided to each child no matter their learning style or individualized needs.  I teach at one of Sioux City's middle schools, only a few blocks from our home and have the opportunity to view quality education for all learners.

CJ is loving preschool!  He attend all day preschool in the elementary building I began my teaching career in.  He is in an integrated class of students with and without disabilities.

When CJ is not with his friends at school, he is keeping busy with Kindermusic at Lamb Theatre, baseball at Miracle League Field, or learning with his friends at GiGi's Playhouse.  He dances with Flux-Ability through Contemporary Dance Studio.

Other activities in our community include STARS, Camp High Hopes and Shark Tails swimming lessons.
